Design Research & Dissertation [Draft Dissertation]

 

INSTRUCTIONS :

I did this module before in sem3 but i withdraw it and said would do it sem 5 so i did. we had set of tables we need to fill in and also was given a blank draft dissertation template. the first thing we need to do is Matrix. i had a confusion myself in the early 2nd to 4th week with the Matrix. The matrix mostly contains materials both for discussion and literature review.

I got some feedbacks regarding my literature review and methodology parts and spend the next few weeks working on it but mostly working on my proposal for other module.

Draft Dissertation : 

I had a a few feedbacks that i needed to add more explanation to the results part, as well as i need to use APA formating on literature review. had a feedback about my literature review article being "too old" but the deadline is closing to redo literature review.

Reflection :

Experience : reading wasnt my forte, i prefer listening while stimming. i consume lots of ibuprofen because my eyes wasnt suited for reading in bright light for hours. overall i gained new knowledge about the topic thats has been widely debated and insights. this is one of the modules for me that is hard to keep up with. My brain could translate instruction differently if i dont have a 'reference' to look up as i am more of a visual learner when it comes to instructions.

Observation : Racism and Orientalism dates back to the earliest of time, mainly caused by people who dont understand a culture. this has been debated for about a hundred years old and up until now the topic still remains as some medias only doing "representation" for check points while POC are fighting in the industry to tell their story for the longest time.

Findings : I find this topic very insteresting as i am myself active in some community and have other love for some underepresentated cultures. My point of this dissertation is not perfect but the more i research about the topic, the more i learn about what other's may thought. i get to hear opinions and voices from different of people struggling about representation in the media.
