ADVENCED TYPOGRAPHY [ PROJECT 2A and 2B ]
2A : KEY ARTWORK
for this week project we have to make a key artwork based these event topics:
- All Ripped Up: Punk Influences on Design
- Russian Constructivism and Graphic Design
- The ABCs of Bauhaus Design Theory
- Sophie Taeuber-Arp: Living Abstraction
- RIUH in the city: Sama Sama Riuh
- Urbanscapes
I choose the Russian Constructivism and Graphic Design, similar to my previous task/exercises before, so i can use some old and concept refrences from my previous exercise work.
This is the key artwork i've comeup with this, using similar elements to russian constructivism artworks
in the feedback session, Mr Vinod told me that it look like a poster. so in the next following week, i changed it
It's inspired by some flag but mainly inspired by a fictional country flag called " L'manburg " and i submitted it next week.
on the following week, i recieved a feedback from my peers and Mr Vinod. mainly about why does it look like flag and the Constructivism part. Mr Vinod suggested i use El Lissitzky style for the diverse shape and play with it.
In the next week i use El Lissitzky style of Russian constructivism art but i woke up a bit late so there's not much time for a feedback
2B : COLLATERAL
After our first project Key Artwork, we continue to make a poster with our previous work. For this task, we have to include dates and further details. i came up with three concepts for the poster.

for the mockup/collateral i made it into a hoodie, a mug and a tote-bag
FEEDBACKS
Week 6 : it's just a quick feedback from Mr Vinod that my design looked like a poster, nothing else. so i was directed to change it
Week 7 : I got a feedback about the flag from Mr Vinod and something about the lines and shadow font from my peers. Mr Vinod suggested i use El Lissitzky's Russian constructivism art.
Week 8 : Mr Vinod prefer the first poster but it has no key artwork, the 2nd one is a bit off with the letter and recommend me to play more with the shape and concept
Week 9 : —no feedback

Vignelli Canon on Design ( Ambiguity and Timelessness )
Ambiguity (page 20) is about the form as vagueness, the author mentioned that it has a positive meaning and the ability to conferring design. it's often used to enhance expression of the design. But we still need to be careful playing with ambiguity.
Timelessness (page 28) is about how designers dispise the culture of obsolence and time wasting. The detest the demand of temporary solution. And they respond what people needs and what people wants so they demand a long lasting values. They focused on the message rather than visual titilation
