ADVENCED TYPOGRAPHY [ EXERCISES ]

 

Lectures

WEEK 1 : 

Mr Vinod Brief us about this semester tasks and projects as well as 8 type of composition System. We later make our first Indesign poster with one of the 8 type of composition.

WEEK 2 :

After doing 8 type of composition, we got a feedbacks from classmates in the breakout room and then Mr. Vinod review some of the works and gives feedback, and later he give us our next exercise which is Type and Play

WEEK 3 :

We started off usualy with my classmates giving us feedbacks, i prepared 3 sketches based on the images i provided and my classmates said the one similar to runes are better so continue my work with it. Mr Vinod later provided some of us tips and feedbacks until the class is over

WEEK 4 :

I missed the first half of the lecture because i fell asleep after sahur and subuh but i manage to complete my work before and handed it out on the FB comments section. we later proceed to our next exercise and as usual, but we done our first try this week. Some of us got a feedback from Mr Vinod.

WEEK 5 :

After recieving feedback from classmates and Mr Vinod. He then lectures us about our next assignment which is Key artwork

TASK 1:

Our first assignment is to make a poster with one of the 8 type of composition, however i mistook it by at doing it randomly and not the Axial type so i have to make more and revised it.

For the next week, our homework is to make 8 diffrent types of Composition with Adobe Indesign

at Week 2, me and my classmates later review our work and gave feeback to each other and i have several feedbacks from them. Here are some revised versions

TASK 2 :

For our next task, we need to take some pictures or search an image and find the letter structure based on the image. I take several image and try to search some letter, theres 5 pictured but i manage to find 3 of the pictures with letters in it

The letters for each of the images are " X V A Y U " , " V T Y A X " , and " K Y A X  U "

After a feedback with my friends, they chose number 2 and i continue to refine mine based on ancient runes.

i tried to make the shape just like it, but i add some additional stuff like extra lines and a little circle, i tried to not change the T that much, so i made it look like the runes of " a "

TASK 3 :

In this Exercise, we should make an character image with typography, it has the similar vibe to previous exercise, but we use a photography of a person this time

Mr Vinod gave us first try on the 4th week before the lecture ends and gave some of us feedbacks and what to do, this is my first try before i make another one for the 5th week

of course, im not satisfied with it somehow so i made another one for the 5th week.

After recieved a feedback, i redo the " Style and the circle, the red was meant to be paint but i got rid of it and re make the circle with a PS tutorial i found

FEEDBACK

Week 1 :

 I made another variation and i need to make some adjustments because i didn't use the 8 composition types

Week 2 :

These are the summary feedback from my friends

- add End Dash —

- Spacing on Transitional dates needs to be fixed

- Align to the Axis for Axial

- The circle kinda doesn;t make it centered, or just not really serving a purpose

- for the grid, Change the title, maybe align it to the left

- make a shape for modular because it can look like an axial

- Indesign doesn;t do me justice for making an error and maybe fix the  second date and names + make the title more emphasize

- a little empty space on the bottom left

Week 3 :

I asked my friends which one to choose and they chose the one that based on bike, because it look like runes so i shaped my to look like runes

Week 4 :

I missed the feedback session from my classmates

Week 5 : 

I recieved a feedback from Mr Vinod that i should focus on the type more and try to recreate it
